Lately I'm noticing how in the spring everything comes alive and song birds want to sing and so do I so do I so do I oh yes, our old friend the sun there she is there she is there she is I'm noticing how the grass the peonies the weeds awaken from their slumber beneath the earth reach for the sun's golden rays and so do I so do I so do I I'm noticing the red-shouldered hawk perched on a maple branch viridescent buds beneath his talons ruddy plumage sharp eyes fixed on the field to spot the faintest hint of life I see him grasp it and fly and so do I so do I so do I I take a turn about the yard (Jane Austen would be proud) train my eyes on the iris poking up through the mud the ferns unfurling beneath the alder trees bent and broken from the heavy late winter snow and so am I so am I so am I I scan the woodline and notice the swath of yellow at chest height a vein of speckled gold running through the forest I scratch a branch and let the Lindera's spicy fragrance fill my nostrils a covert host plant for the swallowtail butterfly hidden forever in the middle it takes up space but not too much fills in the gaps with a subtle beauty it neither towers nor retreats perfectly occupying the space He measured out with his hand and so do I so do I so do I
Just beautiful, Sara ❤️
Love this!! The refrains made me think of bird calls! Was that deliberate?
Oh I love this!!
